Online fitness challenge to help you get fit

CHILLICOTHE –As the New Year approaches, the local OSU Extension office is hosting a free online fitness challenge.

Weight loss or getting in shape always leads New Year’s resolutions, and the online challenge is designed to provide support to be successful in that resolution.

Participants will receive weekly e-communications via blogs, Facebook and Twitter with tips and recipes to help them get fit. All participant information is kept confidential, and only an e-mail address is needed to take part.

Those who sign up by Dec. 27 and complete a pre-event survey will receive bonus healthy holiday recipes and their name will be entered into a $50 gift card drawing.

Anyone who documents and adopts a nutritional, health and fitness lifestyle change between the first of the new year and March 31 will be entered to win a prize drawing on April 1.

Weekly drawings will be conducted from Jan. 1 through March 31, and all participants are eligible to win.

Each week, participants will receive free weekly e-communications containing nutrition, health and fitness tips. Additional food and activity logs will be available for download to help participants track their progress.

To get started, send an e-mail to Lisa Barlage at barlage.7@ osu.edu with “Get Fit, Don’t Quit” in the subject line and subscribe in the body of the e-mail. You’ll be enrolled and begin receiving e-communications starting January.
